Today I had a lovely brunch with one of my favorite friends. We split pound cake French toast (it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be) and avocado toast with buratta on it (this was delicious!). I am not here to tell you about the brunch, but rather to tell you how easy it is for me to get into my head based on what I decide to wear for the day.
I am packing for a vacation right now (leaving Wednesday morning—-see ya, bitches!) and since I really don’t want to pack last minute, I have limited items to wear since the weather is still pretty warm here. So this morning, I opted for a white t-shirt (it’s so cute, it ties at the side) and a navy pencil skirt (Truthful moment: I didn’t realize it was navy until I got to brunch— this is how much I pay attention) with a wedge heal and a jean jacket (b/c my hubs told me it was cold out—it is not cold). This outfit was cute and I was super pleased. BUT…
I have all my bras packed and only have one not packed that I like that is black. Can’t wear that with the white t-shirt. So I put on another bra I have that it just not my favorite. It is not my favorite b/c it makes me feel like BOOB-zilla. But, nevertheless I put it on and off I went.
I made it five minutes into the brunch and I felt like Tits McGee. And, then started to think about the entire outfit. Why did I wear this? It makes me look fat(ter). I should never wear a t-shirt. I should never wear white—should just stick with black!
It was still a lovely brunch. I got in my car and had to talk myself down: This is the bra you hate that you should just give away. Let’s take it off as soon as you get home and put on one you like, even if it means you have to wash a bra before vacation.
The bra is off as I type (oo-laa-laa!) and I feel better. I also think that it might be time to retire those shoes. This whole outfit would look super cute with some sneaks on instead.
Moral of the story: buy and wear clothes that make you feel good. Not just b/c they fit. Or b/c people say that is what you should be wearing (that’s a whole other topic). And, some days you are also not going to wear anything that will make you stay outside of your head, that’s okay. Mama said there would be days like this!

Elmoi Charley Underwire Convertible Plunge (available at Nordstom, Nordstrom Rack (for your rack–hahahaha) and Amazon. This bra is great b/c it can be converted to a t-back. These gals of mine cannot do strapless.
Best pandemic bra:
True&Co. They have lots of options for all sizes. For those with bigger ones these bras are comfie, but not much lift. You may be cool leaving the house with these, or you may not.
Worst bras:
Mostly the types that say they are t-shirt bras or side lift bras. No certain brand.
